It involves activities like planting tress, shrubs, and flowers, arranging hardscape elements like pathways and walls, and considering factors as terrain, soil, and climate to create a harmonious and balanced outdoor space. Landscaping often focuses on creating attractive designs, improving functionality, and incorporating, elements that promote environmental sustainability.Ā

XERISCAPING

The term "xeriscape" is derived from the Greek word, "xeros," meaning "dry," and "scape," referring. to a view or scene. It involves using plants, materials, and techniques that are well-suited to arid to drought-prone environments, aiming to conserve water and reduce irrigation needs. It also involves proper soil preparation, mulching to reduce water evaporation, efficient irrigation methods like drip irrigation, and implementing design features such as retaining walls and terracing to manage water runoff. Xeriscaping promotes sustainable landscaping practices, conserves water resources, and reduces the maintenance demands of traditional landscapes.Ā

Examples of hardscaping features include pathways, driveways, patios, decks, retaining walls, fences, pergolas, water features, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, and seating areas.
